How to access another session using ssh?

Hi,
I have a question if it is possible when connected using ssh to a box to access another session (is it called tty?), like the one that is "manually" logged on to the server.
This is for instance to see a progress of some rsync transfers.

You should use something like "screen" or "tmux" to accomplish this sort of thing.
