I have recently been experiencing very slow (1-2 MB/sec) xfers when I connect to my server's samba share from my workstation running Arch x64_86. Normal xfer speeds are on the order of 50-55 MB/sec. I have several operating systems on the workstation:
1) Arch x86_64
2) Arch i686
3) Windows XP
If I boot into Arch i686, file xfer speeds are fast. If I boot into Windows XP, file xfer speeds are also fast. When I boot into my x86_64 install, I get the horrible speeds.
Conclusion: the problem is NOT the server since both Arch i686 and Windows can get great speeds connected to it. The problem must therefore be in my Arch x64_86 install somewhere. Can anyone suggest where to be begin? I mount the share via this command:
sudo mount -t cifs -o username=username,password=password //nas/share /media/share
