[SOLVED] Firefox under KDE - cannot "open containing folder"....

Hey again... so yeah, my problem is basically described in the subject.

When I installed KDE and Firefox this feature actually worked - I downloaded a file, clicked on "open containing folder", and Dolphin would happily pop with the respective folder open.
However, when I installed a few more apps, this got messed up - namely, when I installed QMMP from AUR, Firefox started calling QMMP to open the folder. Previously, this was happening to me with the EasyTAG application (but I think that issue is gone at the time being).

Is there a way to "point" Firefox to Dolphin for opening folders?
Any help on this issue would be much appreciated.

Yes:

1.- Open "System settings"
2.- Go to "Default Applications" and search "File Manager" option.
3.- Select "Dolphin".
4.- Save and  restart KDE4 session.
5.- That's all

This happened to me with Gwenview. Some app's just seem to steal your file associations and/or defaults, for no apparent reason all my folders started opening in Gwenview. I hadn't changed anything, the solution was as superchango stated. This seems to be something to keep an eye on in KDE.

Strangely, my "File manager" *is* Dolphin in the System Settings. I cannot click "apply" or anything else to save settings, since those settings seem to be already set up.
Yes, Gwenview was (one of) the application(s) which was opening the directories for me as well, prior to installing qmmp.
Any other ideas?

Re: [SOLVED] Firefox under KDE - cannot "open containing folder"....

Hello! Sorry for not replying sooner - I've finally managed to solve it (I hope). Dunno if there was a mistake in my config, or an update to KDE (or something else), but I've just freshly re-installed my KDE, and when I clicked "Open containing folder" with Firefox, it asked me for an application to open it... so I choose Dolphin. I hope it remembers it now.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Happened for me with Firefox.

Changing the default File Manager in Default Applications to something else and back to Dolphin solved it for me.
