i am currently using windows 7, archlinux is set up on another machine with samba 3.4.3-2 installed. i have configured it wit ha computer based security, the problem i am having is the speed at which i can copy files. The network is a standard 100 Mbps ethernet, but whenever i am copying files from the samba share to my windows system, i am always getting speeds of < 5 MB/s, but whenever i am copying files to the share, i get speeds of > 10 MB/s.
what seems to be the problem, copying to the samba share works fine with expected speeds, but copying files from the share is always slow, is there any setting in samba that i am forgetting?
P.S: i have tested this with multiple networked machines, same result.
