Hooray! Finally got a nice KDE desktop!

However, when I put

fam

in the daemons section of rc.conf, it just causes a

no such file or directory

error message. LOL.

That's not required.

Try to uninstall fam and remove it from re.conf and install gamin, which isn't needed to be in rc.conf. There should be some article at Wiki.

Thanks for the GNU/Linux. EDIT:Thanks for the GNU/Linux, Linux guru, for the manuals and wikis.

The documentation I read appears to be outdated and thus don't apply to 2009.08 and later.

I am using 2009.08, but it doesn't matter, but I have no problem with gamin :-)

EDIT: Sorry for miserable English, I should read it twice when I am communicating with a native speaker and stop using word "but" twice in one sentence :-)

Sure, you can install fam or gamin, but it's not used by KDE. ;-)

That's funny... But what is used by KDE, when not fam nor gamin?

Thank you, I've looked on wiki for Gamin, not for FAM :-)
