Ping - unknown host

Hi to all!
I'm a newbie in the Archlinux world, and i'm installing this magnific os reading the beginner's guide.
Yesterday the ping command worked, but now... it doesn't work. T_T
If I try to ping localhost, it works.
My pc is connected to the router by a cable connection.
If I run the "ifconfig" command, the output is:

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:13:36:02:00:FA
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
        RX packets:38 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
        TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
        collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
        RX bytes:6625 (6.4 Kb) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
        Interrupt:20 Base address:0x6400

lo [...]

Can anyone help me??

P.S.: Sorry for my bad english...

Re: Ping - unknown host

Try if running dhcpcd as root solves the problem.

Re: Ping - unknown host

Can you ping the router's local IP addess (Example: 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 , etc) ?

Based on your output it appears you wouldn't be able to. That output indicates your connection isn't set up correctly (dhcp or static IP) or is physically disconnected.
