wlan - can only connect to router

Hi,

So I have my wireless working fine with my router.

The thing is, when I try to connect to another open network that is around, it will try to connect to my router SSID again.
I'm using wicd and I tried unchecking the "auto connect.." option.

But when I select other open networks it will again try to connect to my router o_O

It's so weird that I actually turned off the router so the SSID doesn't show on the list.
I click on the open network, and it will STILL try to connect to my off line router? And obviously fails when trying to get an IP address.

Weird. I also have a netbook here with linux mint and the same thing happens, though that one is network manager.
So it's hard to blame wicd here.

What is going on?

Don't panic !

Re: wlan - can only connect to router

Look in the wicd log file.  Perhaps that will have some answer.  I've had issues with arch and wireless networking that I've not seen on other systems.  Try turning wicd off, unload the wireless module, load the wireless module, turn wicd on.
