Hi!
I suspect my router and my internet connection to be very bad... don't really know if it's both of them tough and what is happening. High brandwith connections block out everything else, many small / fast connections might have an insane package loss rate (don't really know how it's supposed to be).
So... I can't run anything on that stupid provider brand router. What would I want to have written into a log file on my machine in the network every other hour, to get some basic data? Like...: Slow, medium, fast ping @ self, router, google... or something? Is there already a script for that purpose?
Thanks!

Not sure if I understand your question right, but what about
ping -c 3 www.google.com >> test.txt
You can put that command in a script and start it at the times you like through cron.
