Re: Radeon HD 3400 - small artefacts

1) yaourt catalyst , select catalyst 10.6 (now july 2010)
2) ati-config -initial
3) add nomodeset in /boot/grub/menu.lst
4) add libglx to MODULES in /etc/rc.conf

Re: Radeon HD 3400 - small artefacts

I have problems with Radeon HD 4350. Your description sounds like sth simmilar.

Here I made topic:
"xf86-video-ati Screen tearing (some tiles rendered with offset)"

Re: Radeon HD 3400 - small artefacts

obviously I would rather go with the open source drivers, gwpl, but as the close AMD drivers do work well and someone (Vi0L0) took the effort of wrapping these in a AUR package I'm more than helped with that.

I wouldn't mind to help the xf86-video-radeonhd developers but currently I cannot see how.  Put it this way: AMD has done a great job of providing a GNU/Linux X installer that works fine for my purpose.
