Apache 2 and Ravencore

I downloaded the one in aur but then decided to start over. The Ravencore in the Archlinux database has been tampered with and is not up-to-date, so I decided to just build this stuff from scratch.

1. reinstalled Archlinux
2. Made sure the base-devel package is installed
3. created second user that is a sudoer
4. installed dependencies according to yaourt database for ravencore 0.3.0
5. installed php-mysql and mime-types from database
6. mkdir /etc/init.d
7. installed ravencore 0.3.6 from tar.gz according to readme file
8.Started up ravencore but had an mysql error about not finding it at /etc/init.d/mysqld, so I started up mysql manually and added it to be started up when the machine turns on.
9. had a permissions issue so I "chmod 755 /usr/local/ravencore -R
10. restarted ravencore an it seems normal
11. Made admin password for ravencore
12. went to designated ip address and got an error

When going to my ip address where ravencore is suppose to be I get

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '(' , expecting T_STRING in
    /usr/local/ravencore/httpdocs/index.php on line 5

I do not know what this means... for the little experience I have the php code looks right. None of the php pages work.
I created a little test php page and it worked, so the php is working... hmmm Anyone have suggestions?

will work on how to make this work for Archlinux tomorrow
