Why would I get this message trying to mount an NFS share?

[max@superkid rc.d]$ sudo mount -o soft 192.168.1.139:/media/storage /media/storage
mount.nfs: mount to NFS server '192.168.1.139:/media/storage' failed: timed out, giving up
