[SOLVED] Clean Installation on Asus U50F - No networking issue

Hello, I just installed arch linux on my new Asus U50F from the lastest live cd, and I have not been able to get either the ethernet or the wifi to connect.
When I try to connect using the ethernet port it just times out during dhcp. When I try using wireless it fails during the wpa 4-Way handshake and then gives me a kernel panic after the 4th retry. Because of my lack of a network connection, I can't update/install any packages on my laptop. Any help with this issue would be appreciated.

uname -a: Linux 2.6.30-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Jul 31 07:30:28 CEST 2009 x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux
wireless card:
Atheros Communications Inc. AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01)
ethernet card:
JMicron Technology Corp. JMC250 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet (rev 03)

Update: I reinstalled arch linux using the latest packages and kernel 2.6.33.
I finally got it to work by updating netutils.
