no root no internet pppoe connection [SOLVED]

Hi

I just configured my new Arch Linux installation, but I've got one problem - internet is working only for root. I'm using network and ppp daemons to connect. I added myself to the network group, but it didn't help. Maybe there are some wrong privilages somewhere (ppp or something)?

Re: no root no internet pppoe connection [SOLVED]

once as root, if you run ppp to connect using pppoe, and set the default route, that route is set for the entire system, not just for root, i.e, all users/applications can use the ppp0 interface to connect to the internet.

are you getting this problem on the same system as the ppp daemon, or are you trying to set up the ppp machine as a forwarder.

Thanks for your reply. I already solved the problem. smile I had to change /etc/resolv.conf privilages to be readable by non root users.
