Panel behaved strangely grouping windows autimatically.
Also multiple rows mode seems strange whet starting an app.
You can see on screenshot dolphin running and another starting in lower row. But after it starts it jumps in upper row.

Also the first dolphin tab moved right (the taskmanager starts left just after desktop monitor).
The space appeared randomly. I don't know hot to reproduce but it's now the first time.
I enabled one row mode and disabled window groupping to escape those problems.
But multiple rows seem to enable autimatiall again!
Also the task manager changes it's position and size.
I tried mv ~/.kde4 .kde4-old (just to see, maybe after upgrade some configs were incompatible, but it still behaves the same)
this is desktop 1: the taskmanager thould be like this:

this is desktop 3: randomly-resized-broken taskmanager

Edit: and now it seems like one row mode is active but tabbs are jumping to upper row

Doctor Drive,
Do not edit posts and remove the questions like this. It makes for nonsensical threads. Please edit your post and put in your question back. Then post the solution. That will help the community as well. Please do not be selfish.
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

Ok. And actually it isn't solved. I thought it was. But after a while seem to appear more problems.

Task manager is broken since I remember.
Things you described are just some of "symptoms". What about minimize/magic lamp effect? Are windows minimizing into right task all the time? (like firefox minimize itself to dolphin)
Best solution is swaping default task manager for someting else. (Look at kde-look's plasmoids )

I liked the default task manager. I hadn't any problems since 4.6. When I started using KDE4.

I have exactly the same problem since 4.7
I tried "Smooth task", "Fancy tasks" and other *tasks with no success.
If the "Only show tasks from the current desktop" is checked in "Smooth tasks" I get empty placeholders left when i close a window.
I use two virtual desktops.
If I close a window on the first one I get a placeholder on the second desktop where the window on the first desktop used to be.
A picture is worth a thousand words :
If I use the standard task manager plasmoid I get exactly what Doctor Drive gets.
I'm using KDE with compiz, but it is all the same if I switch to KWin.
Edit: the only "normal" behavior of the task manager is when I untick the "Only show tasks from the current desktop" option.
But then occasionally I get the problem described here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1818350

I found the same behavior of Task Manager as described by shivik when I upgraded from KDE 4.6 to 4.7. My Task Manager is configured to show only windows from current desktop, but it creates a placeholder when a window is closed on another desktop.
This thing is very annoying
Is there a bug filed against KDE? If so, let's vote for it

Yes, I'm also using KDE 4.7.2. But this bug doesn't occur on my system.

also using 4.7.2 (i686) and no probs with the default tm or smooth tasks.

After the 4.7.3 update the problem seems to be gone.
My uptime is " 09:43:35 up 1 day, 56 min" and still not a single occurence.
It used to happen roughly 3-5 minutes after logging in to KDE
Can anyone else confirm if its gone for them?
