can't maintain wifi connection

After updating yesterday I'm suddenly unable to maintain a wireless connection

I connect via

ifconfig eth1 up
wpa_supplicant -Dwext -i eth1 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf -B
dhcpcd eth1

with a ping -c3 www.google.com I got the first two packets back, but then the connection is lost. Subsequent trials just give a "ping: unknown host www.google.com" error message. iwlist can still detect wireless networks, but I lost the network connection.

Any ideas on how to proceed?

Re: can't maintain wifi connection

Sorry, can you post some more details about your wireless hardware?
Thanks,

Re: can't maintain wifi connection

You should provide us with more info - but I'm guessing you didn't read the frontpage. It states clearly that net-tools was replaced with inet-utils, thus removing the tool 'ifconfig' in favor of 'ip'.
