Difficulties to create my local network

Hi everybody

I want to create a network between my Internet modem - Wife's PC ( With Windows Seven) and mine.
I read several articles on French & English wiki, but I still don't know how to create it.

I use KDE4, and use Dolphin. But when I want to see my network thanks to the "network shortcut" inside Dolphin, I've nothing.
About "smb.conf", I'm using the default version, and here it's the return of the command «testpam -s»:

[/etc/samba] testparm -s
Load smb config files from /etc/samba/smb.conf
rlimit_max: increasing rlimit_max (1024) to minimum Windows limit (16384)
Processing section "[homes]"
Processing section "[netlogon]"
WARNING: The "share modes" option is deprecated
Processing section "[printers]"
Loaded services file OK.
Server role: ROLE_STANDALONE
[global]
        server string = Samba Server
        log file = /var/log/samba/%m.log
        max log size = 50
        dns proxy = No
        idmap config * : backend = tdb

[homes]
        comment = Home Directories
        read only = No
        browseable = No

[netlogon]
        comment = Network Logon Service
        path = /usr/local/samba/lib/netlogon
        guest ok = Yes
        share modes = No

[printers]
        comment = All Printers
        path = /var/spool/samba
        printable = Yes
        print ok = Yes
        browseable = No

The IP address of the modem is 192.168.1.1, and here it's the return:

[/etc/samba] smbclient -L 192.168.1.1
Enter nicollivier's password:
Domain=[WORKGROUP] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 2.0.10-security-rollup]
Server requested LANMAN password (share-level security) but 'client lanman auth = no' or 'client ntlmv2 auth = yes'
tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED

I've also added these two lines «client lanman auth = no client ntlmv2 auth = yes» to avoid this error message, but I still get it.

So now I really don't know how I can handle it. :-\

Some ideas ?!
Thanks smile

Re: Difficulties to create my local network

Have you tried systemsettings? If not, then ALT + F2 - kdesu systemsettings and I think the samba module is in "Sharing"

Re: Difficulties to create my local network

Hi,

I didn't try it, but inside this option I can only add the default user login & password.

I've already post about this problem in the French forum, and tuxce told me that I should no need samba but only smb through dolphin.

Thanks for your help smile
