I have compiled compat wireless and updated the firmware for my wireless card, but this should not affect the wired port should it?
True, by no means no. However, as I understand your earlier post you have the same problem with the wireless. So it cannot be a hardware/cable thing really. And as you can set static routes, the problem should only be dhcp .. yet where.
Did you disable IPv6, change MAC or do something else in that direction?

I had the same problem. Try to append the option "--timeout 60".
That fixed the problem in my case.
I just tried this and it did not work.

I have disabled IPv6: ( like shown here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Disabling_IPv6 )
# disable autoload of ipv6
alias net-pf-10 off
I haven't changed my MAC address.

Do you have network in your daemons? I did not see it there in your earlier post but you changed the array after the post a couple of times ..
