Wow Teho I'm amazed, even though I'm not into much anime that desktop in general looks amazing. How do you control the windows? ALT+click and the like for moving perhaps? I'm guessing mainly keyboard shortcuts?
Thanks.
Everything can be done with both mouse and keyboard quite easily but I use keyboard primarly:
Application lauchers:
Meta + (A,S,D,F,G,Z,X,,C...) and KRunner
Middle-click application launcher on desktop. I can get to it from lower left corner.
Window switching:
Alt+Tab
Show windows effect on upper left corner.
Window controls:
Meta + (E,R,T) and Meta+Y for window moving with arrow keys if ever needed.
Left click to active and right click to kill applications on "Show window effect". Window moving by simply grabing or double clicking some of the hit zones.
I have spesified different window rules for just about every application and usually don't move them much. As almost all application bindings are shared with all the applications remembering them isn't exactly difficult and allows hiding a lot of the stuff but as always eveything can be done from the global menu with mouse too.

Cheers Teho. Gotta love the near infinite configurability of KDE lol.

I'm looking for this icon so if anyone knows where to find it I would be glad to know.

My last for this year.. back on Arch with KDE (never thought I'd end up with KDE and a "traditional desktop" at the start of 2011 )
Don't beat yourself up, KDE is pretty good these days What is that plasma theme?
Edit: Guess I'll post my last for the year too:

Hehe, I'm fine on KDE but I used to dislike it. The plasma theme is Glassified. Happy new year!

Here we go then, slightly unity/gnome3-inspired: http://i.imgur.com/3FZpH.png
Plasma theme is caledonia with ambiance icons. Window decorator is nitrogen paired with QtCurve. Icons are Kicons 2 slightly customized.
There's also a panel with launchers, hidden on the right side.

I never thought I'd be using KDE. I tried it earlier this year though and just really enjoyed the features & ease of use. Think I'm going to stay with it for a while

Great tips, thanks.

The 4.8 RC1 picked up some speed compared to 4.7, the logoff sequence is much swifter and the new Dolphin is an absolute delight, although it's still slightly rough around edges. Unless something goes terribly wrong, KDE 4.8 might be "the" KDE 4 version. It's pretty stable too, I find it actually more stable than 4.7.4.

Oh nice! I'll wait until it's officially released tho
