Greetings,
Here is my January 2012 setup. Been using this setup in December as well. It is not terribly different from the last screenshot I posted except that I have gotten rid of the top panel.
SETUP KDE 4.7.4
PLASMA THEME Custom combination of Aya and Shadowport mainly
APPS IN USE Chromium, kopete, clemintine (sp?), konsole, kalc, ksnapshot
OTHER INFO
I am still using activities heavily. I have the following activities set up: web for internet stuff (though I opened some non-internet stuff for the screenshot), book for working in my book and other documents, general/search for general use, and game night for my gamenight rpg files (I'm a role player and host an RPG so yeah).
I am using kopete right now though I eagerly anticipate when I cna switch to kde-telepathy. Right now though I test it out, it isn't yet ready to replace kopete for me.
Plasmoid in the main panel is the icon-only task manager. Also visible is the lancelot launcher broken into three menues, the cpu monitor (running slightly higher due to ksnapshot), and the RAM monitior for ram and swap, as well as network monitor. The clock is at the bottom.
On web activity I have two comic plasmoids, CWP, and analog clock. On book activity I have four folderviews set for different document folders. General activity is just the search and launch activity and gamenight activity is just set as folderview for my gamenight folder. the dashboard shows all the plasmoids ontop of everything else.
My two hidden panels are both on the bottom. The left one is for switching activities, the right one is for systray and notifications.
And now for the screenshots....

KDE CLEAN SEARCH/GENERAL

KDE CLEAN GAMENIGHT

KDE CLEAN BOOK

KDE FAKE-BUSY WEB
Showing the web activity with some applications open to give a general sense of the looks of the system.
KDE ALL WINDOWS WEB
Showing the same as the Fake-Busy screenshot, but in persistent view.
KDE ALL PANELS WEB
Showing the same as the Fake-Busy screenshot, but with the two bottom hidden panels made visible.

Had hours of fun playing with the stuff Shinryuu posted on page 2, modeled my dwm after it as well.
Mind sharing the wallpaper?

I'm surprised not to see more multi screen setups in these threads.
When I post a screenshot, I usually reduce it to one screen

Thanks, it's alright though, since this fits my laptop's screen resolution perfectly.

Really nice!! Can you share your wall and conkyrc? And how do you get awn working in openbox? I knew that it needs compositing, but it crashs with xcompmgr...

Nice -- how do you accomplish the diagonal-scanline effect with your translucent terminal?

.conkyrc
/bin/bar which is executed from .xinitrc
weather script which is used in .conkyrc
xbm icons
colors from my .xinitrc that I used for the icons.
The dzen2 bar just sits on top of my dwm statusbar.

I don't have any issue with xcompmgr and awn.Likely you have problem with C option. Here is mine:
xcompmgr -cFf -I20 -O10 -D1 -t-5 -l-5 -r4.2 -o.82 &

It is gnome-terminal,and I use pattern for background with transparency.
