[Solved] sniffing problem

i been having trouble using sniffing tools like wireshark,ntop,tcpdump...

all of them give the same error:

Can't open netlink socket 93:Protocol not supported

someone have a hint to where start looking?

maybe using a older version of libcap?

my system is  Linux 3.1.7-1-ARCH  x86_64

and
tcpdump  4.2.1-1
libcap       2.22-2

excuse my english...

That happens. Sometimes it's just one word turned around and ... voilà tongue
Hope it helped to answer your question. If it did, please mark your thread as [SOLVED] (edit subject line in your first post). Thanks.

Re: [Solved] sniffing problem

Rollback? Didn't say anything in that thread about rollback.

I did what it said, but it did not in fact work:

    odinho@odinho-fido:~$ sudo modprobe nfnetlink
    odinho@odinho-fido:~$ lsmod|grep netlink
    <blank>

Soo. Guess it's rollback time then. How did I do that again...

Re: [Solved] sniffing problem

So I did the downgrade:

    wget http://arm.konnichi.com/2011/01/01/core … pkg.tar.xz
    sudo pacman -U libcap-2.19-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz

But still no dice. hmm

Kinda fun that we all became members in 2009.

*Edit*: Ouch, think I might've updated the kernel since I rebooted. Should probably try a reboot.
