Guarantee CPU-Time for user

Good evening!

I set up a server on a old maschine of mine and I want to grant some friends of mine access to this server.
Hence I need to reserve or guarantee CPU-Time to my useraccount and to the root-account, so that
I remain being capable to administrate the server.

I used the google-search now for some time, but except for some possiblities for "Doors" I haven't found a thing.

If you have any idead on how to solve my problem, I'd be very happy!
Greetings,
Jakunar

Have a look at /etc/security/limits.conf maybe...

http://maketecheasier.com/limit-cpu-usa … 2010/09/22 This is likely the post for you. smile

Just modify to check for and ignore all processes that are running under your username.

Re: Guarantee CPU-Time for user

Thank you for your answers,
I will have a look on both ideas, but it will most likely take me some time to get to the solution I am searching for.
In any case, if I finally get to that solution I will post it in here.

Greetings,
jakunar
