pacman takes too much time between downloads

Hi
Whenever I install any package from pacman, it takes too much time between downloading dependencies, like this;
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=109399
I have implemented the solutions in this post but still the problem persists. Can anyone tell me that how can I fix it?

Just to make sure that you have no DNS problems, try to use OpenDNS servers and see if it makes a difference.

I have tried OpenDNS but in this way network stopped working even if I follow the guide step by step.

Uncomment XferCommand = /usr/bin/curl -C - %u > %o in /etc/pacman.conf and try it. It helped me on a network where i had this issue.

I had the same problem with pacman.

You want these options in /etc/resolv.conf.tail. I have my nameservers in there as well but I did not list.

options rotate
options single-request

Use a mirror that is closer to you?
Try to pinging your mirror... I think pacman only does 1 dns query per mirror...

Can I use axel (download manager) instead of curl? If yes then how?

Moderator comment:
usamahashimi,
I note that you started this thread, so I am not going to invoke our prohibition on ancient threads, yet.

What with a brand new revision of Pacman, and a new slant on the thread (the use of axel), perhaps it would be better to split this thread and close the old half.  I'll do that if you want (contact me).  If not, lets try to wrap this up in another post or so.  Thanks.
