Hello everyone Just successfully installed Arch, alsa, xorg, sudo, etc. When running "startx" I get an error "/usr/bin/X: lib/libc.so.6: version 'GLIBC_2.15' not found (required by /usr/bin/X)

I honestly have no idea what this means. Any suggestions?

...I can't copy+paste any huge logs or anything b/c the desktop im running Arch on is still in its baby stages.

What's the output of 'pacman -Q glibc'?

you should do a pacman -Syu

Multiple similar lines of "warning: config file /etc/pacman.d/mirror.list, line 30: directive 'Canada' in section 'core' not recognized."

When it comes to updates, I can update all my repositories perfectly fine, but could it still be a problem with the mirrors I uncomented?

You should keep the line with 'Canada' commented out, like this:

# Canada

You can use https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pastebin_Clients for debugging. This way you only have to post a few links.

That's another problem. It asks if I want to upgrade pacman (I'm guessing to pacman4) and I'm deciding to avoid it. Long story short, updating pacman leads to a series of errors and makes it to that I can't update. Lat time this happened, I decided to wipe my drive and start from scratch, since I was having issues answering the forum's security question on my Windows box...xD
So I say "n" to continue upgrades without upgrading pacman. It asks me if I want to replace module-init-tools with core/kmod. Saying no leads to Arch telling me module-init-tools and kmod are in conflict. Should I click "yes" to replace? Idk. I dont wanna risk breaking my system (again) before I even have a gui going.

@AlvitrValkyrie, read the news on the homepage. Not just the last news item, but several of the previous news items as well. They explain about pacman4 and about kmod and everything. There's no way around it, you'll need to learn how to deal with all that before you can continue installing new stuff.

@everyone: Arch needs new installation media, and fast. One that includes pacman4 and kmod and all that stuff. The current media is very unfriendly to newcommers because of all the changes that happened recently.

And the problem being about the glibc 15 errors when starting x

I don't think you get it. Use netinstall if possible and you get pacman 4, the new kmod etc., no need to update from pacman 3 to pacman 4, because you get never got pacman 3 installed.

Nothing works at this point, so I'm just going to reinstall again. Now...will the netinstall iso *work*

Do netinstall, it's the best way to avoid problems since Arch Linux is about "up-to-date" OS.
