Hi,
since a week or two I can't boot my laptop over LAN. But only if I booted arch before - if I don't boot arch (i.e. just boot BIOS and turn it off afterwards) it just works as expected. WOL is enabled in BIOS and in arch:
host@~ # cat /sys/class/net/eth0/device/power/wakeup
enabled
host@~ # ethtool eth0
Settings for eth0:

So something in between would be great which let's the laptop just boot if I send the magic package.... as it was a few weeks ago.
Best,
Johannes
PS: Kernel version (3.2.6-2) If you need more details feel free to ask.

Just to conclude if somebody finds this thread later:
There seems to be a problem with WOL/Kernel 3.2.X and maybe the Intel 82541GI driver.... if i use a 3.1.x or an older Kernel (like lts) WOL just works fine. The problem with the instant reboot was because of this line:
ethtool -s eth0 wol umbg
in /etc/rc.local.shutdown which I've added for debugging and forgotten about....
