Cable Router & Wireless Router

Hey Peoples,

I know my way around networking so-so, but I need a little help. We have Comcast business internet at our office, and it comes with a cable modem/router. We also have a Netgear wireless router that is then connected into it. We're having some issues with the wireless network not being stable and often times losing internet connection. I'm having a feeling that there is a setting messed up, but which one? How should the DHCP settings be set? What other areas do I need to make sure are correct and/or not conflicting?

Thanks in advance!

James

Re: Cable Router & Wireless Router

Not an Arch question, and also a bit vague. If the wireless device can be configured as a bridge, that would be the best option. If not, disable DHCP on one of the boxes, and make sure they're both using the same subnet.

Re: Cable Router & Wireless Router

I've found that computers and smartphones with static IP on the wireless network, are more stable as well.
