Re: اردو/हिंदी

I speak Hindi/urdu....but I will probably have to use the english alphabets, coz I will be really slow if I try to use the devnagari script on a US keyboard.

Re: اردو/हिंदी

I think we need better Hindi support under Arch so e.g. my family in India can use it when they visit.

Re: اردو/हिंदी

I can speak hindi as well.

Well in terms of software, most common apps comes with hindi UI as an option (OO.o, firefox comes to mind) and its relatively simple to install and use the alternate language version (I htink u can do it in OO.o without the need to recompile, but u may need to recompile). Gnome has always surprised me with its language support, so in terms of people using it, its just a matter of settting it up. I have my PC at home set up to use english and tamil UI's and switch.

Re: اردو/हिंदी

I learnt hindi is school (2nd -6th std). But can only speak few sentences. Not really versatile though except tamil which is my native language. Using tamil or hindi is absolute pain when it comes to computer keyboards.

Re: اردو/हिंदी

लिनक्स में हिंदी टाइप करना ज्यादा आसान है। बोलनाग्री लिपि फोनेटिक् है, जो हिंदी टाइपिंग आसान करता है।

Re: اردو/हिंदी

The bolnagri layout is phoenetic, so it makes typing easier on the US keyboard.
E.g. typing 'k' will give you 'क' and 'K' gives 'ख'.

You just have to follow the alphabet's sound.
