How does one edit keyboard shortcuts in Thunar??

In 'Settings' Under Appearance in xfce you can flag 'enable editable accelerators.' With this you can set the keyboard shortcuts of any gtk menu item by hovering the mouse over the menu item and then pressing the new key combination for the shortcut.

shift+h takes me to my home directory, / takes me to root, F6 to the address bar and so forth. It's very neat and can be used for a lot of apps besides Thunar. Won't work if you have globalmenu though.

edit: it works with global/app-menu, you just can't map the shortcuts with it.

Even back when I used GNOME and Xfce, in the late 2000s or so, I did most file management using the standard coreutils/bash commands, with gnome-terminal/(Xfce) Terminal. I rarely used Nautilus/Thunar. I have, but rarely use, Midnight Commander.

Also, it appears that dired (yes, the Emacs file manager) can display images, at least in the X version (obviously).

[2012-03-15T15:49-0500] Update: I forgot to increment the numbers when I voted. WorMzy, your vote for coreutils should be 15.

Ranger is pretty snazzy, but I don't really see any point using it when cd, ls, mv, etc. work perfectly well. *shrugs*

Re: Poll: Favorite File Manager (GUI or CLI)

Wow, lots of votes for SpaceFM (or at least people started including it in their posts...) I wasn't familiar with how people do polls around here (without any real "Poll" functionality on this board). Are you guys just copy-pasting the previous list and then highlighting your votes in bold? or are you voting for all of them, with the bold ones being your most favorite?

And wow dmz, I must say your screenshots there look SNAZZY!
Definitely gonna try vidir now, and spaceFM too.

Lately I've been using nothing really besides ranger, once I learned a few of its key shortcuts...its nice you can actually
edit the programs associated with files, and can modify keybinds (i think). But somehow it also does feel a bit lacking...

Oh, and BTW, please, post more screenshots! I want to see how people have their filemanagers setup!

Dolphin's Columns view is fantastic; Dolphin itself, however, is far too sluggish for my tastes, and while I used to be a KDE fan installing several hundred megs of stuff for one ~3Mb application seems asinine now.  I switched to Ranger after finding out how simple it is to learn and customize the keybindings, and how great the previews are. I love Miller columns, as they require the least amount of mouse movement, and Dolphin is the only graphical FM with columns that's worth anything (Marlin just can't cut it yet and, with its rate of progress, might not for some time).
