The PCs in my lan are "unpingable" from time to ti

I've just put a thread about my card dying, but I've realized that's not the problem anymore. I have a lan, whose I'm the gateway to the internet. My problem is that after some time the PCs in my lan stop recieving inet, and when I ping them (nmap scan), they don't answer. Ifconfig tell's me everything's all right. Dmesg the same.
An /etc/rc.d/network restart fixes it, but it's really anoying.

PD: Sorry for my crap english, but I couldn't make it any better.

And where were all the sportsmen who always pulled you though?
They're all resting down in Cornwall
writing up their memoirs for a paper-back edition
of the Boy Scout Manual.

Nop, I run it after the connection dies, while my dad and my sis are taking out their guns to kill me, and tell me that my linux experimentation es bullshit.

OTOH, would the cards stay alive in another OS ?

Also a bit more useful : You could try exchanging internal and external NIC. It *might* be helpful for diagnosing.

Yep, I have no problem in Win with the lan, and in mandrake, after years of strugle with the control center, I got it to work.

Good Idea, I'll do that (exchange cards).

I exchanged my connections, but the problem persists.
