Hi all,
I am using an older computer as a router and for whatever reason the dhcp daemon stops listening on wlan0 (which serves wireless). It continues to listen on eth0 and I can connect fine that way.
I don't see anything in the log files indicating any problem and wlan0 is still up, has an IP, and hostapd is also running (and authenticates clients). What else can I look for to understand why dhcpd is no longer listening for requests? My iptables firewall is not blocking requests to my knowledge as restarting dhcp4 fixes the problem.

Try specifying the interface(s) you want dhcpd to be listening on in /etc/conf.d/dhcpd
It should contain something among the lines of DHCP4_ARGS="wlan0" (add it if it doesn't).

It appears that dhcp has been working well now for a little while, so I think that was the option I missed.
Thanks,
