Can't ping default Gateway

After a few years of Ubuntu Usage I got to Arch but I'm pulling my hair out after the installation part because I am unable to ping to the default gateway For reasons I have no clue of

My resolv.conf currently says

#Generated by dhcpcd from eth0
#/etc/resolv.cong.head can replace this line
nameserver 192.168.0.1
#/etc/resolv.cong.head can replace this line

but that's after I have added
"dhcpcd from eth0" on line one and
"nameserver 192.168.0.1" on line 3 which is the default gateway

route says

Destination:     default                  192.168.0.0
Gateway:        192.168.0.1           *
Genmask:       0.0.0.0                  255.255.255.0
Flags              UG                       U
Metric             0                          0
Ref                 0                          0
Use                0                          0
iface               eth0                      eth0

I've been trying my best to get this thing fixed ... I've been running around different forums, blogs etc... and I am really really at the verge of going insane... someone please help me.
I am using a Lenovo x120e and I have a stable internet connection... Now I have a password and username set on the wifi router from which I have taken a LAN cable to connect to this laptop, which BTW seems to recognize it.

Many Thanks in advance.

Not trying to be rude, but linking you is easier than taking you step-by-step through this process:
