"jumping" networkmanager icon.

[root@dieter-t420s log]# pacman -Qsi networkmanager
local/network-manager-applet 0.9.4.1-1
    GNOME frontends to NetWorkmanager
local/networkmanager 0.9.4.0-3
    Network Management daemon

functionality-wise, it seems to work fine (connecting, using and disconnecting from wired and wifi)
However my networkmanager-applet icon is "jumping" all the time. like it's continuously switching between states, or something. see https://vimeo.com/40996118
I would expect that my logs get spammed too, with entries everytime the icon changes, but that's not the case.  All I get is:

[root@dieter-t420s log]# tail -f daemon.log
