Hi,
I am running my own dhcp and dns servers for my local network and presently have things configured like this:
/etc/hosts
192.168.xxx.yyy hostname.somedomain # wired
192.168.aaa.yyy hostname.somedomain $ wirelessIs this the proper way to configure my network, or should I do:
/etc/hosts
192.168.xxx.yyy hostname-wired.somedomain # wired
192.168.aaa.yyy hostname-wireless.somedomain $ wirelessRight now, I am doing the top option for simplicity, but I don't have any way to specify then to use the wired or wireless interface. Also, it seems that I would be losing quite a little bit of network performance by doing it that way. However, appending a -wired and -wireless option doesn't really seem intuitive either. If I bridge the wireless and wired networks would that simplify matters?

I don't think you can bridge wired and wireless, you can however route between the two, using iptables. Such as clients on the wired side can use the wireless connection to reach the wireless router to get the internet connection.
The hostname is the same on both interfaces regardless.
