[SOLVED] Can't connect easily with wicd/network-manager

Hello,

I have a Atheros wifi card:

05:00.0 Network controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01)

My problem is that I can't connect easily with wicd or network-manager to my wpa2 protected wifi network. Each time, the wifi networks are correctly detected, my card associates correctly to the network but suddenly, the card is deconnected from the network. From dmesg:

If I try wpa_supplicant, everything is working directly. Sometimes, if I stop and start wicd or network-manager daemon 2 or 3 times, my card succeeds to connect to my network.

Do you have any idea why I'm deconnected from the network when using wicd or network-manager ?

thanks for you reply but sadly I'm not sure it's related... this bug affects only a old version of wicd and I'm still able to connect with wpa_supplicant without reloading any module

I have the same network adapter as you have and wicd works perfectly. Have you read archwiki on wicd? Follow the instructions.

Follow the instructions.

Hehehe I re-read the wiki page. I tried to change dhcpd to dhclient and it worked ! I must have misunderstood the warning message from dmesg and thought the problem was coming from my wifi card and not from the fact I had problem getting an IP address from dhcp.
