Re: e17-cvs packages

Community is built from the files published at enlightenment.freedesktop.org , thats why is missing so many pkgs, because they are considered not stable enough to have a snapshot there yet. You can use the PKGBUILD from other authors to complete the E17 experience smile

Re: e17-cvs packages

When I attempt a

pacman -S e17

using fouinix's repo, I get this error:

error: imlib2-devel conflicts with imlib2-cvs

Re: e17-cvs packages

Hmmm...I didn't know e17 was in Community. So I disabled fouinix's repo and did a

pacman -S e17

This resulted in pacman removing imlib2 and installing what appears to be a working e17. I'll play around with it and see what it does.

The odd thing is that when I tried fouinix's repo, and was told that

imlib2-devel conflicts with imlib2-cvs

I tried removing imlib2. But pacman told me that fluxbox relied on it, so I left it in there. However, when I used Community for my e17 installation, pacman removed imlib2 without complaining.

Re: e17-cvs packages

But fouinix's repo is updated, community repo doesn't ... anyway, I updated my E17 environment yesterday and i noticed new modules:

Randr: Change Screen Resolution
ibox: This one I don't what it does, I mean is a application launcher according to the "about", but anyone knows how to use it?

Re: e17-cvs packages

Well, I removed Community Repo e17 and tried fouinix's repo again. I notice that it makes me remove imlib2, ffmpeg, transcode, k3b and fluxbox if I follow all the dependency incompatbilities to the end before I can install it. I need k3b, though.

Re: e17-cvs packages

It should be safe to reinstall these programs once you have swapped over your version of imlib2.
At least - I'm currently using stock ffmpeg, transcode and fluxbox with fouinix's imlib-cvs without any problems.

according to the latest news I could find at get-e, its still under heavy development which is why its not enabled by default... but if it eventually works as intended it should be great.

What i did was to remove the imlib2-devel package with pacman -Rd imlib2-devel and then proceeded to install e17.

Everything seems to be working alright.

I don't have imlib2-devel installed.

Re: e17-cvs packages

I'm wondering if I'm going about this all wrong. What I'm doing is placing fouinix's repo high up in my pacmsn.conf file so it's seen before all other repos, and then doing

pacman -S e17

But this shows dependency problems. Should I just install each package one at a time, in the order I see on the e-get.org web site?

Doing it with

pacman -S e17

causes this:

error: imlib2-devel conflicts with imlib2-cvs

I don't have either one of those packages installed. If I remove imlib2 with

pacman -Rd imlib2

and then run

pacman -S e17

again, I get this all over again

error: imlib2-devel conflicts with imlib2-cvs

Re: e17-cvs packages

It looks like  a problem with the repo itself: some packages depends on imlib2-cvs and some on imlib2-devel.  I haven't tried to install these packages, though.  Maybe try to contact fouinix.
If you want to try to install each packages separately, You can use:
pacman -Sg e17
to get the list of packages in the e17 group.

Re: e17-cvs packages

Okay, here's what finally worked. I ran

pacman -S e17

to see the list of things that would be installed. Since I see things like ecore and ecore-cvs, e and e-cvs, etc., I assume I shouldn't install everything on that list. So keep that list posted in one terminal for reference, open another root terminal and use pacman to install only e-cvs. Then I install all other *-cvs items in the first terminal that e-cvs didn't install. Lastly, I install all other packages in that first terminal that don't have a *-cvs corresponding package already installed, installing only those that don't ask me to uninstall a *-cvs package.

Now I have a working e17.

Re: e17-cvs packages

For complete this e17 repo, if you have pkgbuild of e17genmenu - expose - euphoria or any e17 addons, I can add these to the repo.

fouinix,

Thanks for the work you do here.

I'm curious about getting cvs of e17. I'm asked for a password when I attempt to do that. Is there a generic password that people use for that, or do I have to register with the cvs site to get it?

Re: e17-cvs packages

fouinix, thanks for all your works...a little request, can u compile eclair with a newer cvs version? I'm sorry, i have the PKGBUILD here, but i can not compile by myself because the libtool-slay issues.the old eclair in the respo works very unstable here.
it's ok if you are busy or something else...i may wait till the libtool-slay testing finished

Re: e17-cvs packages

i just saw the the updated package in your repo...thanks for all your works
but there are some problem about the name of those packages
e-cvs-010905-1.pkg.tar.gz is the newest version of the cvs snapshot
e-cvs-300805-1.pkg.tar.gz is older than the the current snapshots
but pacman think 300805 is newer than 010905...i think you could change the name from ddmmyy to yymmdd to make the software understand the version number...thanks again

why don't you start a new thread guys, just a thought, smile

and cvs/svn should be named as fallen is saying,
like 20050901 or just 050901,

arch + gentoo + initng + python = enlisy
