Setup only internal ip address, no external address

This is possibly more of a dd-wrt question, but I am new to linux networking and do not know, please let me know if I should redirect this question.  I have a arch server set up with a static internal ip address, and a dynamic external address.  I do not want the machine to have an external address at all, or basically I only want it to be accessible internally and I do not want it to have any external access at all.  Of course for updates I can enable external access, but for the majority of the time I do not want this machine to have any external ip address
