Hello fellow Archers,
The Community contributions is the main section that I tend to follow here at Arch Linux forums. However, these programs come and go and it's hard to keep track of them. A good number of them also tries to solve the same problem over and over again. And some of them seem to mean well but after closer inspection have too many obvious bugs or crude shortcomings that I'm deterred from trying them. However, let's look at the bright side. I'd be interested in knowing what are the TOP 5 apps that you found from this forum and why.
I myself am looking for apps that stand the test of time, have fitting names that reveal their purpose and adhere to the de facto way CLI apps are supposed to work. Well, I'm going to be a party-pooper here and not post my TOP 5 because I don't have any, but I would like to have one.

Your question is not actually contributing to the community. So I am going to move it to Newbie Corner
There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there sure are a lot of inquisitive idiots !

Your criteria are rather interesting. The best programs I've seen posted about in Community Contributions are not CLI, nor do they have obvious names.

Also, your top 5 may not be mine or anyone else's for that matter.
This seems headed to TGN...but I will play along for a while to see what kind of responses you get.

I think the only CLI app (from Community Contributions) I use is zathura. Most apps I found and like are GUI like qtfm and DeaDBeeF.
