Share your monsterwm desktop!

The same rules aplly as for other screenshots topics. Share some info about bars/panels, terminals, color schemes and other things that you find interesting and relevant.

This was my wallpaper before (in the spirit of monsterwm):
6uAk6s.png
* wallpaper is available here

Now i'm back to my default one but that is not important since i use terminals for most of my work and leisure:

At the moment, i use no bar (i plan on using dzen/somesortabar in future), my config.h and .Xresources are available on internet.

Re: Share your monsterwm desktop!

Moved to monsterwm.
My second monitor's VGA cable seems to be broken or something as it
doesn't get detected correctly anymore and thefore runs on low resolution.
So I had to post edit the screenshots a bit.

Anyways, I think I've found my wm for rest of my life hopefully.
Cross-post from screenshot thread, configs and patches are here

Re: Share your monsterwm desktop!

Moved to monsterwm after 2or 3 years with dwm.  Using dzen2 with custom bash statusbar script...which I'm contemplating switching over to conky->dzen2.

I can't seem to find the original one, but here's the one I'm using (I have some shadowing for the top panel):

Any possibility to share your configuration for the panel?

Re: Share your monsterwm desktop!

I'm new to monsterwm too. I think I'll be sticking to dwm when I'm using a monitor - I like using tags rather than workspaces on a bigger screen - but on the netbook's dinky display monsterwm seems just about perfect.

The statusbar is conky/dzen2, colourscheme courtesy of Solarized, config files for everything here.

Thanks. I wish I could have done a better job on Awesome and Xmonad, but they were a lot to get my brain around in just a short time. Luckily they both have excellent online docs.

I mostly use ratpoison these days, but this thread reminded me of how much I like monsterwm (and snapwm).

One more scrot, to bring it back on topic:

2012_03_20_061623_1280x1024_scrot.jpg

Fibonacci mode, and just a one-line conky at the top of the screen this time, no dzen2.

Re: Share your monsterwm desktop!

nice one smile

would you share those color settings ?

I think you have:

#define HEIGHT      8
#define FATTICK_W   8
#define TOP         True
#define GAP         (3)
#define BG          "#5f5f5f"
#define FG          "#77bee0"
#define URFG        "#???"
#define URBG        "#???"
#define WINFG       "#dddddd"
#define WINBG       "#5f5f5f"

Re: Share your monsterwm desktop!

@jason
Thank you kind sir.

@cookie
Of course:

#define HEIGHT      8
#define FATTICK_W   8
#define TOP True /* show on top or bottom of the screen */
#define GAP (3) /* space above when on top. space below when on bottom */
#define BG          "#5f5f5f"
#define FG          "#77bee0"
#define URFG        "#ff8278"
#define URBG        "#ff5a4c"
#define WINFG       "#dddddd"
#define WINBG       "#5f5f5f"

Also, you can try with this, i like it too:

#define FG          "#bde077"

Re: Share your monsterwm desktop!

@2ManyDogs

How did you get the monster2dzen script working when I try I just get a black rectangle in the upper left hand corner.
I also had to change the font to terminusmod,icons instead of terminusmod.icons to stop dzen2 from telling me it couldn't find the font could that be a problem?

Edit:
Answer elsewhere.
