Mysqld fails to start

I am having a issue with myslqd, apparently the server fails to start.

Initially I observed this today when I tried to connect to my mythtv backend.  Through google, and this fourm I believe that I may have some corrupt tables that are causing the problem.  My user.err file is growing rapidly with InnoDB entries, of which this is one:

120608 19:55:12 InnoDB: Waiting for the background threads to start
120608 19:55:13 InnoDB: 1.1.8 started; log sequence number 51195888581
InnoDB: Database page corruption on disk or a failed
InnoDB: file read of page 17046.
InnoDB: You may have to recover from a backup.

It appears that my error may be similar to the on in this thread https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=131650 and I read through the links referenced in Post #4, but cannot claim to have had much of if make sense to me.  I cannot start mysql to do anything with the tables...and if possible I would like to save my myth database.

I went through the wiki, but didn't find any solutions there.

So, are there any simple tutorials, or advice that I could try?

Thanks,

Jeff
