[SOLVED] clean installation with image problems with upgrade

I did a clean installation with 2011-08-19-x86-64.iso image. all done.
then I tried upgrading with:

pacman -Su

it asks me pacman need to upgrade first with other several packages (which are related to PGP keyring)
so I upgrade pacman to 4.0.3
this works well. all done.
and at the end of steps, it also asks me to use pacman-key --init to do things with PGP keyring.
so I did like that.
and then it also works well. all done.

Then I still use pacman -Syu
here I get a long list to upgrade those packages I installed from iso image to newer versions.
so I select Yes in each prompt it gave me when encounter conflicts. (replace with new files and structures..)
and I can download those packages from mirror site.
after that, it checks integrity.
then gave me a long list of errors of PGP keys. like the following:

signature from "xxxxxxxxx <xxxxxxx@archlinux.org>" is unknown trust
signature from "xxxxxxxxx <xxxxxxx@archlinux.org>" is unknown trust
signature from "xxxxxxxxx <xxxxxxx@archlinux.org>" is unknown trust
signature from "xxxxxxxxx <xxxxxxx@archlinux.org>" is unknown trust
signature from "xxxxxxxxx <xxxxxxx@archlinux.org>" is unknown trust
signature from "xxxxxxxxx <xxxxxxx@archlinux.org>" is unknown trust
...

but what I got from bbs/wiki is that it should be ok if I have run pacman-key --init. But the fact is not.
So what else should I do with this issue?

Thanks.

You forgot to merge pacman.conf and pacman.conf.pacnew

OK. got it. thanks.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pa … save_Files

I have just refer to this topic according to your reply to this post.

it said "These files require manual intervention from the user and it is good practice to handle them right after every package upgrade or removal. If left unhandled, improper configurations can result in improper function of the software, or the software being unable to run altogether. "

good point..

Can upgrade feature be accomplished more of artificial intelligence? This would be a rub here.

yes, confirm the 5 masterkeys there (you will be prompted to do so), then it should all work fine.

Re: [SOLVED] clean installation with image problems with upgrade

oh..long journey for this version's upgrade..
finally I use TrustAll in sign configuration.
and upgrade completely.
Now I change back and run pacman-key --populate archlinux.
hope this would not happen again in later upgrading.
