I have some problems with CUPS that doesn't see my Canon MP250 printer.
I've Arch 3.3.8.1-ARCH (Archbang) on my i686 PC, and successfully installed CUPS + its demon.
The CUPS admin page at http://localhost:631 works ok.
I've successfully installed my Epson AcuLaser C1100 using this PKGBUILD: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages/epson-alc1100-filter/
and I've added it to CUPS and it's visible at http://localhost:631/printers/? (and working!)
For my Canon MP250 printer I found https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=33257
I downloaded the tarball https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/cn/c … 250.tar.gz and unzipped it to ~/builds/cnijfilter-mp250
Used "makepkg -s" to create a package, and used "pacman -U cnijfilter-mp250-3.40.1-5-i686.pkg.tar.xz" to install it.
After that I restarted CUPS with /etc/rc.d/cupsd restart
Unfortunately (even after a system reboot) CUPS doesn't list the Canon printer under "Add printer"
and "Find New Printer" results in "No printers found."
What can I do or check to solve this?
Thanks in advance!
