Hmmm... why aren't these packaged?

Looks tedious, but it'd be worthwhile.... anyone have a package build? If so I'll throw it in [community].

Cheery....

I love angels in dark surroundings. Looks great, since that shot I've changed my GTK font to snap (from the flux theme) which looks heaps better with all the text matching.

My wmii setup is not very differnet from the defualts. I just changed the colors and added to the end of the "STYLE" section:

  WALLPAPER="feh --bg-scale /path/to/wallpapers/wallpaper.jpg"

You can get the wallpaper I used at  http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/6479329

The other changes I made were:
$WRITE /wm/default/page/tile-width  $TILE_WIDTH to
$WRITE /wm/default/page/tile-width 50 $TILE_WIDTH in /etc/wmii/wm

And changed /etc/wmii/actions/term to my favorite terminal urxvt. Rxvt-unicode was made transparent by .Xdefaults, which I took from the rxvt-unicode thread. Thanks phrakture!

The font is just the defualt one. I think it's something like: -*fixed-medium-r-*-*-12-*-*-*-*-*iso8859-*
I'm not sure though.

eval `cat $HOME/.fehbg`

feh keeps track of the last wallpaper set and how it was set.  This restores your last setting when it starts.  Hooray feh!

Yeah it's Xfce from SVN. And the theme is a Xfwm4 theme called Atlanta2, I think.

considering there still a lot to be done for Xfce 4.4 its in a good state

thunar getting better every day its got drag and drop, cut copy and paste, and thumbnails but no delete yet.
file management was a not a strength in 4.2, with the new xffm and thunar its looks like it will be in 4.4

there a PKGBUILD for thunar i made here
if your using 4.2 you will have to change the depends and --prefix

Re: September 2005 Arch Screenshots

I'm really excited about XFCE 4.4.  It'll be nice to see if they've finally gotten the file management problem solved.  I've been using ROX with XFCE since 4.0, because xffm just doesn't cut it and, IMO, no other FM out there is light, simple and functional like ROX.  Maybe Thunar will even become a favorite?

Re: September 2005 Arch Screenshots

Hmm, I'm not sure if it's planned for 4.4 or not, but they should really consider making a quick filter field for the file manager (like the one in most e-mail clients).

Re: September 2005 Arch Screenshots

You can get "Select files by pattern" in thunar which is sort of what you're looking for.

Re: September 2005 Arch Screenshots

Does it work as you type?

Just selecting will not be too useful for a folder packed with a lot of files.

Hey Penguin, while you're at it could you change Lowe's latest thumbnail into a link and a "disturbing image" warning? roll
