qtwifimon

Hello

I present to you: qtwifimon (AUR package). It is written with pyqt and monitors your wifi and/or wired connection. It is convenient for people, who use netcfg or wifi-select.

Here is the help:

usage: qtwifimon [-h] [-v {error,info,debug}] [-i INTERVAL]

Monitors your wifi.

optional arguments:
-h, --help show this help message and exit
  -v {error,info,debug}, --verbose {error,info,debug}
set the level of verbosity (default: error)
  -i INTERVAL, --interval INTERVAL
intervall to update the icon in seconds

The configurations file can usually be found in
~/.config/qtwifimon/qtwifimon.rc

If you are not happy with the default icons, you can make your owns and specify them in the configuration file.

Have fun with it!

nsb

Re: qtwifimon

Hi there! Just replaced wicd with netcfg and qtwifimon on my openbox/fbpanel netbook. Seems to work great! Shows up in fbpanel tray, icons and all. Great!

When installing are there any configs one can do to test it without some of the KDE/qt asssistant deps?

Do you mean the the icons? You can check the file under ~/.config/qtwifimon/qtwifimon.rc
Just uncomment the line with the icons and adapt it to your needs.

Re: qtwifimon

No, when installing I got the probable misconception that is a KDE app, but it's not. So Im really OK! Thanks for the effort!
