Since the last pacman -Syu upgrade I have not been able to boot. I also cannot get the keyboard working at any runlevel. I can access my mdadm raid by booting an Arch Linux install USB stick so I was able to get to the log files.

rebuild/re-install your nvidia drivers and try again.

I discovered that the kernel had not been properly upgraded. I chroot to the system after booting with a USB stick and did pacman -U with the latest kernel package that was stored in /var/cache/pacman/pkg and that fixed it.
