DNS problem - Same DNS across OSes, doesn't work in Linux

Hi,

I'm having a strange issue with DNS on Linux machines.  There are windows, mac and linux machines connecting to the router, all using the default configured ISP DNS.

The Linux machines can barely load a webpage.  There's a big difference in ping times by domain or IP, so I assumed the DNS is to blame.  I've switched DNS on the Linux machine and it seems to be ok now.  However, I don't see why the problem wouldn't have affected the other OSes as well, if it really was a DNS issue.

Can anyone suggest what might be causing this?  It's functional now, so the problem is somewhat solved, but I'd like to know why the DNS settings that work fine for Windows and Mac don't work in Linux.

Any ideas welcome.

I am having a issue really similar to this one: When I have more than one unix machine on my network I am barelly able to load a page, the speed of my connection becomes really slow. I have tried many tweaks to solve the issue without any luck about using the same DNS, but, while using different DNS it seems to have resolve the issue.Maybe this is because of the router, idk?
I will be glad to have some answer or clue of what is going on to make the network livelock or misconfiguration like that.
