Install FlashPlayer (PepperFlash 11.3) in Chromium.

This is a procedure to manually install the plugin for Google Chrome.

1. - Go to the Google Chrome Webpage

2. - Download the web browser (rpm package) for your processor architecture.

3. - Unpack the rpm package and go to the directory: /google-chrome-stable_current_x86_64/opt/google/chrome/

4. - Copy the folder named PepperFlash in the folder you want, for example in the directory: /home/my_user/.config/chromium/

5. - As root edit the file /etc/chromium/default and change the following line as follows:

CHROMIUM_FLAGS="--ppapi-flash-path=/path/to/the/folder/PepperFlash/libpepflashplayer.so"

According to the example of section 4, the line would be as follows:

CHROMIUM_FLAGS="--ppapi-flash-path=/home/my_user/.config/chromium/PepperFlash/libpepflashplayer.so"

(You must specify the path where you copied the folder called PepperFlash, which contains the plugin libpepflashplayer.so)

6. - Restart Chromium

Hope you find it useful.

Sorry for my English (thanks google translator big_smile )

Re: Install FlashPlayer (PepperFlash 11.3) in Chromium.

Wouldn't it just be easier to use what's already stated in the wiki, and the said aur packages?

I don't use it so forgive me if I'm wrong, but this task here can be accomplished much easier as well as provides easy updates and seamless workings through package updates, as well as pacman managed files.

Edit: Grammar mistake, no doubt more swimming around in there.

Certainly, but I do not speak fluent English, I prefer to post in the forum, I do not write on the Wiki, if I do not know if this is a correct translation.

Re: Install FlashPlayer (PepperFlash 11.3) in Chromium.

This method is not intended to be correct or more simple, is another method. Logically this can be done using the AUR repository.

i'm not sure if this already exists in any wiki, but it'd be best if you could request for a wiki account on arch wiki, and write it in the language of your preference in wiki, instead of the forums. other wiki users who speak multiple languages are able to translate your text to english with less error, compared to google translate. the wiki has a wide array of languages supported, as listed in the image here from arch wiki.

@alexisgx2: thanks dude, works *perfectly* here, way better than extra/flashplugin still needed by Firefox :)
Note: extra/rpmextract will do its job right.

Hi!
Yes it is, but in both AUR packages users complain about Chrome/Chromium don't working well with the version of PepperFlash those package install.
Thanks anyway :)

Re: Install FlashPlayer (PepperFlash 11.3) in Chromium.

The aur package installs exactly the same flash version, it even uses the same .rpm.

Thanks Mr.Elendig

OP - I have removed the [Tutorial] tag. [How-to] and [Tutorial] tags aren't useful here, as the go-to place (as others have mentioned) is the wiki. The forums are not recommended for such instructions for various reasons.

You did a far better job than many of the native English speakers here. smile
