logwtmp option for pptpd 1.3.4-8 (problem and solution)

Enabling the logwtmp option in pptpd.conf file leads to this error (also error 819 on a Win7 client side):

Plugin /usr/lib/pptpd/pptpd-logwtmp.so is for pppd version 2.4.3, this is 2.4.5
GRE: read(fd=6,buffer=6075a0,len=8196) from PTY failed: status = -1 error = Input/output error,
usually caused by unexpected termination of pppd, check option syntax and pppd logs
CTRL: PTY read or GRE write failed (pty,gre)=(6,7)
CTRL: Reaping child PPP[13066]
CTRL: Client x.x.x.x control connection finished
CTRL: Client x.x.x.x control connection started
CTRL: Starting call (launching pppd, opening GRE)

After searching the internet, I found this solution, which helped me to fix it. So, here is the patch for pptpd 1.3.4-8:

You can apply the patch (where pptpd-1.3.4 directory resides) by:

patch -p0 -i patch_containing_above_code.patch

The whole concept of producing patch, is new to me, so maybe this could be done more efficiently.
