Tor bridges, knowing who used the bridge without vidalia
The title says all, I started a tor bridge in a headless machine.
I was wondering if there is a way to know who used it as in the graphical front-end.

IMO doing such would contradict the intention of why they implemented the feature.

Sorry? Care to explain? The feature is present in vidalia, why it should contradict anything doing it from tor directly?

I was actually a bit surprised to read in your post that Vidalia has that feature, so for me thats contradictionary as well obviously. I have not used it for many years. The reason is simply that they use bridges in the Tor network for users whose ISPs/countries block official Tor relays. Those users are likely particularly vulnerable to IP tracking. Thus, entry hops which do it are bad by definition (see Tor FAQ).

Ok, good And yes, I do and I also looked in the project faq. Did not see an explanation for the function & what it does show actually. The project's documentation and also the user helpfile of vidalia is pretty good, but that point could be a bit better pointed out imo.

You can use arm or write your own check for it using the torctl python modules. I personally love arm for monitoring on my headless relays. Also, to those wondering, you are always visible to your entry node/bridge. Anonymity is done after entering the Tor network. That's why the big attack on Tor involves controlling a bunch of entry and exit nodes so you can match traffic and negate the anonymity Tor provides.
