I've always used Edimax, which have always been flawless and then, I came across Realtek RTL8192C.
I'm interested in this product and was wondering it is currently supported in the kernel?

No, I use this and use the driver from their website, I think that there is also a driver in the AUR. It's not a bad device, doesn't get 'N' speeds as it claims but is nice and unobtrusive.

Edimax is just a vendor. You don't know what's actually inside an Edimax device unless you look it up (or install it and use lspci). For example, I have an Edimax usb wifi dongle, and it has Realtek RTL8188 hardware in it.
