Re: Wicd wont connect to wireless network

wicd logs would be helpful.

Also, can you connect manually?  Is this a open or secure network?  Can you connect to other networks? Does wicd list networks but not connect, or does it not even list available networks?

Not sure where wicd logs are or how to connect manually, but I will post/try if you explain. Also its wpa 2, I cant connect to other networks (Wired works) and it lists networks available

Re: Wicd wont connect to wireless network

I think I had the same problem as you. I was constantly irritated that my Internet wouldn't connect despite netcfg was able to access my wifi connection. I figured out after a few days that the problem has something to do with the DHCP client that comes with Wicd by default. What I did to fix that was to install dhclient from the repos and the thing works!
