May be I will rebuild repo with 1.4, if it's still causing problems...
I thought it was already fixed, but it turns out that the original version of dbus doesn't work.
But I think dbus with ubuntu patch would work.
Check this https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/1014850

The new packages are working just as fine as the old ones were with dbus 1.4 so far...

the dbus issue described in that launchpad bug is fixed with unity 6.0.0-0ubuntu6 , the packagebuilds still contain 6.0.0-0ubuntu4...

That was true of the old packages as well.

oi_wtf, 6.0.0-0ubuntu6 really seems to have no problems with dbus 1.6...
Repo is updated. Please test the 0ubuntu6 version of unity with dbus 1.6.

Please, add globalmenu-extention (it's in AUR) to Unity-for-Arch-Extra it adds globalmenu support for Firefox and Thunderbird
And new info: upstream pulseaudio works fine with unity

Btw, how are people finding compiz 0.9.x in general?
I have been having trouble with the Scale plugin. Initiating the window picker for all windows simply doesn't work. The first time I try it, I can see a few windows swooping past the screen and away as if it is trying to scale onto a screen much much bigger than the actual one. Try again and it only scales windows within the current workspace.
I was hoping for a fix with the latest upgrade but that hasn't happened.

I finded new problem: high CPU load when all apps are minimized. To reproduce:
1) start Unity
2) open something like terminal
3) minimize it
4) wait 5 seconds and you'll see high CPU load
You can run top in another vt (vt1-vt6) and it will show you python2 100% cpu eating.
If that's right for you — replace your ibus to ibus-ubuntu package (in AUR) and it will fix the problem.

That reminds me: I'm the maintainer of ibus-ubuntu, but I haven't uploaded it to Unity-for-Arch-Extra yet. I'll do that soon

why Extra? nux depends on ibus, so it must be in main

Anyone fancy making a PKGBUILD indicator-calendar? New indicator for google calender:
https://code.launchpad.net/~atareao/cal … ator/trunk
I wrestled with this for half an hour but the truth is I don't know what I am doing. If copy pasting and modifying from various PKGBUILDS that seem like they should work isn't working, I don't really know where to go from there.

Since indicator-calendar does not have a stable release yet (no tarball), I won't add to Unity-for-Arch. I can create an indicator-calendar-bzr package for the AUR if you like

Update notes for 2012-08-07
Unity-for-Arch
* Nux now builds with glew 1.8.0. No more super ugly hacks are needed for using glew 1.7.0. Nux will install a fixed glxew.h to /usr/include/GL/glxew-fixed.h until glew is patched upstream.
* Unity was updated to version 6.0.0 with Ubuntu release 0ubuntu6. The DBus issues should be fixed now as many have reported.
* ibus-ubuntu was added. This will allow the ibus indicator to show up in Unity.
* indicator-multiload was removed. The upstream isn't working on it anymore.
Unity-for-Arch-Extra
* Added notify-osd. Notifications should now show up in Unity.
* Added globalmenu-extension. Firefox and Thunderbird will now integrate with the Unity panel.

You have forgot to update unity-2d package to version from quantal, current version from precise requires unity 5 to build PKGBUILD.
UPD. Repo at unity.xe-xe.org is rebuilt with new fixes, glew17 is no more needed.

Hi everyone, I'm new to all this Unity-stuff on Archlinux, but I wanted to give it a try.
I suffer a few bug, maybe you can help me fix them or tell me how can I try to fix them by myself.
I'm using the http://unity.xe-xe.org/ repository for x86_64..
* First of all when I open gnome-control-center and try to go into User Account the Control Center won't do anything and keep respawning when I close it.
It give me this error in the terminal:
libcogl.so.5: impossibile aprire il file oggetto condiviso: File o directory non esistente (Translation: it's impossible to open the shared file: the file or directory not exist)
Failed to load module: /usr/lib/control-center-1/panels/libuser-accounts.so
* When I go to the Dash I have some App icon without label and with a generic simil-package icon.
* In the Dash I don't have the little grey icons (Apps, Music, Files) like they should be. Instead, I've got only the same icon repeated four times, but when I click on them it takes me to the right "tab".
* Ubuntu-tweak won't work:
edu@brain ~ $ ubuntu-tweak
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/ubuntu-tweak", line 25, in <module>
import dbus
File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/dbus/__init__.py", line 82, in <module>
import dbus.types as types
File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/dbus/types.py", line 6, in <module>
from _dbus_bindings import (
ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/_dbus_bindings.so: undefined symbol: dbus_validate_utf8
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Yes.
To both the questions.
But I read somewhere that I need the right packages:
dbus 1.4
dbus-glib 0.98
python2-dbus 1.1
clutter-gtk 1.0.4
And I told the system to not update them:
IgnorePkg = dbus dbus-core dbus-glib python2-dbus clutter-gtk
